BARTLEBY'S
beginnings

In 1998, Zoey Bartleby started her
first business, Conversation Peace,
with humble beginnings — selling
handmade wood home decor and hand-painted furniture at arts & crafts fairs, flea markets, and street corners.
She's also earned honors academic degrees in Communication & Expressive Arts, New Media Journalism, and Strategic Brand Communication — stitching together a patchwork quilt of professional multimedia experience that spans corporates, nonprofits, radio, small business, startups, theater, and tv.
"As a young adult, furnishing my humble home on a humble budget with a far-from-humble eye for design required me to be resourceful with worn-down free vintage furniture and low-cost thrift finds! What started as necessity became an artistic outlet that caught the eye of a growing fan base that expanded with custom orders . . .
25 + Years Later
St. Bartleby proudly goes against the grain of mass-produced furnishings by bringing new life to aged, disregarded diamonds in the wooden rough. It's fulfilling to provide a conversation piece that carries history and evokes nostalgia into the homes of discerning tastemakers—our valued customers who appreciate the character of our fine furniture art and home decor."
