FURNITURE ART CARE

  • Cleaning & Dusting: Use only neutral pH cleaners. Avoid harsh or abrasive products, including disinfectant wipes, ammonia-based cleaners, bleach, or silicone sprays. These can degrade or cloud waterborne finishes over time. Dust regularly with care. A dry, lint-free microfiber cloth or soft duster works best. Avoid feather dusters or rough fabrics that can scratch the surface.

  • Spills & Sticky Spots: Wipe spills immediately. Waterborne finishes resist moisture, but standing liquids—especially alcohol, oils, or water—can penetrate and damage the wood beneath if left too long. Clean sticky spots gently with a lightly dampened microfiber or non-abrasive cloth with warm water. Dry immediately with a clean, dry cloth to avoid water absorption.

  • Surface Protection: Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Prolonged UV exposure can fade finishes and discolor wood; rapid shifts in temperature or humidity can cause cracking or warping. Protect surfaces from heat and scratches. Use coasters, trivets, and felt pads under decor, dishes, or electronics to prevent imprinting, scratches, or heat damage. For those worried about scratches and for ultimate protection, we suggest investing in a custom glass topper.

  • For example: Disinfectant wipes or harsh detergent cleaners cannot be used on this type of furniture as it will strip the polyurethane acrylic topcoat over time! If your piece has drop pulls with no back stoppers, you must take care not to slam the pull into the topcoat finish. If you place your furniture in a high traffic area, it will be more susceptible to bumps and scratches. If you decorate your piece with home decor that has rough surfaces or pointed edges, it will likely scratch the surface of our furniture art—you may need to apply thin felt strips or other protective furniture barriers underneath your decorative pieces.
